Social History Society Annual Conference 2009
3 – 5 April

The Society’s next conference will take place at Warwick University from 3-5 April 2009.

As in previous years, the conference has no single theme. It is organised in five strands:

 Crime and Deviance
 Lifestyles and Lifecycles
 Production and Consumption
 Representation, Memory and the Self
 Spaces and Places

Proposals for complete panels or round table discussions are preferred. A panel should consist of three twenty-minute papers and a chair. A round table should consist of three discussants and a chair.

Proposals for individual papers are also welcome, as are proposals for papers that fall outside the strand themes. Every effort will be made to accommodate them.

Postgraduates working in the fields of social and cultural history are especially encouraged to propose papers.

You are asked to submit proposals using the electronic submission form which will be posted on this website shortly.

The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2008.

Papers presented at the Conference can be submitted to the Society’s journal, Cultural and Social History, to be considered for publication. For further details, see: http://www.culturalsocialhistory.com.

More information will be posted here soon. Meanwhile general enquiries about the conference should be addressed to the Administrative Secretary, L.Persson@lancaster.ac.uk.
